Daily top tip: Registered Nursing Care Contribution

Please note: This article was published prior to January 2024, and some information may be outdated.

If you’re in full-time care – in your own home or in a care home – and you receive Registered Nursing Care Contribution (RNCC), make sure you’re ALSO assessed for NHS Continuing Healthcare.

NHS Continuing Healthcare covers 100% of your care fees. RNCC is a small monthly benefit that covers some nursing care. They are two different things.

When you need care you should be assessed for NHS Continuing Healthcare first – not the other way round.
